The Legacy Behind the Brand
Ian Ferguson

Ian Ferguson is one of New Zealand’s most decorated athletes. He has won four Olympic gold medals and one silver, plus five World Championships in kayaking. In 1996 Ian was awarded ‘Olympian of the Century’ by the New Zealand Olympic Association. Fergs Kayaks was started in 1990 when Ian decided to introduce his passion of watersports to the rest of New Zealand. Since then, Fergs has grown to become Auckland’s most iconic kayaking centre as well as a hot spot for indoor rock climbing in Wellington.
