What to Expect
This level is designed for paddlers who are comfortable standing and paddling on a SUP and want to improve their efficiency, control, and confidence. You'll begin paddling in more dynamic conditions while refining your technique and safety awareness.
Conditions
- Sheltered to semi-exposed waterways
- Light chop and small wind waves
- Light to moderate winds
- Coastal bays, harbours, and estuaries
Key Competencies
- Efficient forward paddling technique
- Improved balance and board control
- Turning and manoeuvring with greater precision
- Introduction to bracing and stability skills
- Deep water remounting
- Understanding wind, weather, and route selection
- Group paddling awareness and communication
What to Bring
- Weather-appropriate clothing (quick-dry in summer, warm layers in winter — no denim or cotton)
- Windproof jacket
- Water bottle
- Sunhat, sunglasses (with strap), and sunscreen
- Secure footwear suitable for water activities (optional)
