Fergs Kayaks – Shipping Policy

We want to get your gear to you quickly and safely. Here’s everything you need to know about how we ship, delivery times, and what to do if something goes wrong.
1. Delivery Timeframes
- 
Standard parcels are sent via a national courier and usually arrive within 2–3 business days. 
- 
Oversized or bulky items (like kayaks, surf skis, or SUPs) are shipped via freight companies and typically take 5–7 business days. 
- 
Delivery times may vary for rural or remote areas. 
2. Oversized Item Pickups
For large freighted items, we recommend picking up directly from the freight company’s depot.
This helps reduce the risk of damage and often gets your gear to you faster.
3. Shipping Costs
- 
Large items (surf skis, kayaks, SUPs, etc.) – freight charges apply; we’ll confirm costs at checkout or by email. 
- 
Paddles – freight costs range from $40–$50, depending on paddle length. 
- 
Other items (New Zealand): 
- 
Auckland – $8.50 
- 
Rest of North Island – $12.00 
- 
South Island – $23.00 
4. Packaging and Delivery Inspection
We carefully pack every order to keep it safe in transit.
 When your delivery arrives:
- 
Inspect your order before signing for it, especially for large or fragile items (like paddles, kayaks, surf skis, or SUPs). 
- 
If you notice any damage, make a note with the courier immediately and contact us right away so we can follow up. 
If goods are signed for without inspection and later found to be damaged, unfortunately couriers will not accept liability, and we may not be able to help with a replacement.
5. Delays and Issues
We always aim to deliver on time, but sometimes delays can occur due to reasons beyond our control (such as weather, courier delays, or freight company backlogs).
We’re not liable for delivery delays outside our control, but we’ll do our best to keep you informed and help where we can.
6. Address Errors
- 
If Fergs Kayaks makes an addressing error, we’ll cover all costs for re-delivery, replacement, or refund. 
- 
If the address provided by the customer is incorrect or incomplete, we can’t refund or resend the order. Any redelivery or correction costs will be the customer’s responsibility. 
7. International Orders
For international shipping, please email us first for a freight quote.
 Fergs Kayaks is not responsible for:
- 
Delays or losses during international transit 
- 
Customs inspection fees or import restrictions 
- 
Parcels held, delayed, or confiscated by customs 
We strongly recommend checking your country’s import rules before placing your order.
