What to Expect

Level 2 paddlers are comfortable on most club paddles (up to 20 km) and can assist in rescues. Focus is on skill development, re-entry techniques, and increased situational awareness.

Conditions

  • Protected open coastlines with easy beach landings

  • Wind: Beaufort Force 3 (12–18 km/h)

  • Small waves and moderate sea effects

Key Competencies

  • Self- and assisted rescues, towing, and wet exits in deeper water

  • Controlled forward and reverse paddling, stopping, and sideways movement

  • Sweep strokes, low recovery strokes, and sculling for support

  • Use of stern rudder, low brace turn, and basic bow rudder

  • Intermediate navigation, weather interpretation, and safe group paddling practices

Focus

Build independence, efficiency, and confidence in moderately challenging conditions while supporting others safely.
