Level 3 - Confident Paddler

Level 3 paddlers are confident, capable, and self-sufficient sea kayakers who can handle moderate coastal conditions, perform self and assisted rescues, and support others on the water. While not a formal leadership level, they possess the technical skills, sea awareness, and risk management ability to take responsibility for themselves and assist with group safety on extended coastal trips of 30 km or more.

At this level, paddlers are developing into confident and competent kayakers who can comfortably take part in most club day paddles of up to around 20 km. They demonstrate good paddling technique, can perform rescues under guidance, and manage themselves effectively in moderate coastal conditions.

Ideal for those just starting out, Level 1 paddlers enjoy safe, beginner sessions in protected waters. Focus is on building foundational skills, confidence, and safety awareness.
